What to show
Supplier tax code, unique invoice number, dates, customer, description, net, VAT rate and amount, total in VND. Commercial checklist: what to include on an invoice.
Keep net/VAT/gross easy to read so the client’s books can post the document without guessing.
Rates and registration
Do not leave 10% on a reduced-rate or exempt supply. If you are not charging VAT, remove the Taxes line.
Cross-border B2B may need different treatment — confirm before sending. Neighbour defaults belong on /th or /id, not on VN invoices.
PDF vs official e-invoice
A clear PDF helps the client pay. It does not replace mandatory e-invoice channels when the law requires them. When the buyer needs a structured official document, treat this tool as a draft or annex.
Using the free generator
Open Vietnam VAT or /vn. Set tax code under From, VAT under Taxes, download PDF. Neighbours structurally only: Thailand, Indonesia PPN.
Flow: how to create an invoice. Overview: VAT on invoices.
- Unique invoice number — never reuse
- Edit or remove tax if you are not registered
